Renault is preparing a museum to showcase its important legacy to everyone

Renault wants to showcase the brand’s historical legacy with the opening of a museum facility that will house the extensive collection of classic cars.

Renault Museo Paris 28

A brand like Renault has a great deal of history behind it. That is why it has just announced the creation of a space where the most important historic cars from its long journey can be seen. There are 125 years of history, and over them many models have been seen that have been part of many people’s lives and have been the protagonists of many stories.

From 2027 onward, Renault will have a space dedicated to its historic cars, a place where the public can discover the brand’s important legacy over these 125 years of history. It is a journey not only through the history of Renault, but also through the changing society of the 20th century, since each of the models represents an advance not only in automotive technology, but also in the social development of each moment.

A museum with the legacy of Renault

The future museum of the history of Renault has been located in Flins, a town that is home to one of the main plants of the Renault Group, from which around 18 million vehicles have rolled off the line. This museum is about 40 kilometres from Paris, which makes it an ideal location for many families to visit, both French and from other countries, who want to discover the brand’s historic cars.

The design of the building is intended to be attractive and to represent the values of the Renault Group. It was designed by architect Jacob Celnikier, of the CGA agency. Its image fits well with the design of the production plant and offers a sense of integration with the car collection.

Inside it will house ‘La Collection‘, made up of hundreds of historic models of the brand. They are arranged so that they can be seen not only from inside, but also will be visible from the outside through the façade. The complex will also have a 2,800 square metre events hall. In addition, there are several work, storage and visitor information areas.

A recovery space for classic vehicles is also present in the museum space, where work is carried out to restore historic cars. There will not only be cars in the museum, but also documents, scale models and other items that have been part of the brand’s history and have brought it to where it is today.

The relationship between art and the brand is also important. The extensive collection of artworks that Renault has acquired over the years will also be present in the Flins exhibition space. All of this will be ready in 2027, although the brand has shown part of the project and has left us very eager to see it finished.
