Renault plans an ERE at its Valladolid factory
The outlook for the automotive industry is not very favourable, and in the face of falling sales, adjustments and spending cuts are being planned quickly, among which, unfortunately, jobs are included. A few days ago we spoke about Ford, which would apply an ERE, and now it is Renault’s turn. The French company presented the Inter-Works Committee with the need to apply a suspension ERE for the Body-Shop and Assembly plant in Valladolid. It has also proposed suspending half a night shift at the Palencia plant.
The sales forecasts for next year are very pessimistic, and therefore among the measures proposed by the company are the suppression during the month of January of half a night shift in Palencia and a suspension ERE as a solution for the stoppage days that will have to be carried out next year.
Specifically, in Valladolid four additional days will be needed on top of the two weeks of stoppage planned for December, while the lines are being adapted for the new car. They have been set for 2, 5, 7 and 9 December, applying the Hours Bank.
At the Palencia factory there will also be several stoppage days this same year: 5, 7, 9, 16, 22 and 23 December and the first week of January.
