ABT shows us what police cars should look like

ABT has just unveiled a magnificent R8 V10 dressed as a police car at the Essen Motor Show

ABT had something very attractive up its sleeve for the Essen Motor Show: none other than an Audi R8 GTR dressed as a police car, perhaps an attempt to show us how, in their view as a tuner, the vehicles that patrol our streets today should look

What you see on screen is a beautiful Audi R8 V10 equipped not only with an attractive carbon fibre body kit comprising front and rear bumpers, side skirts and rear spoiler, but also with sports suspension and 19-inch alloy wheels

As is to be expected from ABT, the interior has received a generous dose of upgrades, starting with sports seats signed by Recaro, roll bars, carbon fibre details and ending with all the basic equipment of a vehicle designed to protect our roads

Mechanically, the 5.2-litre V10 in this attractive Audi R8 is capable of producing no less than 620 hp and 550 Nm of maximum torque, enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds or reach a top speed of 325 km/h
