Rolls Royce achieves its second-best sales result in 113 years of history
In 2016, the British company increased its sales by 6% compared with 2015.
Rolls Royce has achieved its second-best sales record in its history after delivering outstanding results in every region of the globe; 4,011 cars were sold in more than 50 countries. This sales success is all the more remarkable given the difficult market conditions facing luxury products. “This outstanding result emphatically confirms the global appeal of the finest British luxury products to the most demanding customers in the world. Rolls-Royce is a great success story in British manufacturing, driven by the hard work and ingenuity of the men and women employed at our Luxury Centre of Excellence in Goodwood, West Sussex,” says the CEO of the British company, owned by BMW, Torsten Müller-Ötvös.

The British car company recorded its highest sales in the main global markets: the Americas (+12%), Europe (+28%) and Asia Pacific (+5%). In addition, Rolls Royce surpassed previous years’ figures in several individual markets, including Japan (+51%), Germany (+30%), the United Kingdom (+26%), China (+23%) and the USA (10%).
“We are deeply committed to a long-term, sustainable and successful growth strategy, and this result, in a context of global uncertainty, reaffirms our approach. 2016 has proven to be the perfect year to write the first successful chapter in the revival of Rolls-Royce,” says the CEO of Rolls Royce.
As part of its commitment to long-term sustainable growth, Rolls-Royce announced six new dealerships during 2016, which would bring the number of outlets in its global network to 136. The new dealerships include the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Studio in South Korea and an innovative boutique concept in Dubai.

The seventh generation of the Rolls Royce Phantom ceased production in 2017, and its successor will arrive at the end of 2018. This model has maintained its status as the company’s flagship product, and it is worth remembering that it has been named the “best car in the world” on several occasions.
