Rolls-Royce Boat Tail, officially, the most expensive car in the world

Luxury cars are exceptional. Not only for their technical features, but because they harbour luxuries that go beyond expectations. Many strive to earn the title of the most expensive car in the world, but few can come close to what the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail offers. An almost unique model of which only three units have been built that will travel to the garages of their enigmatic buyers.

This model was created according to the specifications of its buyers and is based on the nautical world. It features unique elements, created especially for this model. The design is reminiscent of a Boat Tail launch, with a boot made of wood that opens like butterfly wings and offers a generous loading space.

Super-luxury accessories

That said, a loading space that is dedicated to super-luxury equipment. It is ready to host a picnic with a space to chill bottles of Armand de Brignac champagne, as the fridge has been specially designed to hold bottles of this brand. The crystal glassware for enjoying this drink was made in Paris by Christofle and bears the inscription Boat Tail on the glasses.

Other luxury features include two small cocktail tables and their stools that unfold so users can enjoy a snack anywhere. To shelter from the sun, there is a parasol that deploys automatically. A whole world of small luxuries that makes this model out of reach for ordinary mortals.

Inside, alongside the traditional luxury upholstery, two Bovet watches have been created that can be used either as wristwatches or as dashboard clocks. And there isn’t just one, but two, one for ladies and one for gentlemen.

Part of the car’s design is based on the work of architect Santiago Calatrava, and the whole is, without a doubt, very spectacular. In addition, it has been finished in various shades of blue that reinforce its nautical spirit. Everything is designed to create a super-luxury vehicle that has rightfully become the most expensive new car in the world, at a cost of 20 million pounds sterling. In other words, 23 million euros.

Engine and performance

This model is based on the Phantom Drophead, a car that has already been discontinued. It was built on an aluminium platform and is powered by a 6.75-litre engine that delivers 563 CV.

The names of the three owners are kept secret, although several names from the international music scene have been revealed as possible buyers of this exclusive model. In any case, this is not a car to be kept locked away and it needs to get some fresh air, so we may well see it driven by some celebrity soon.
