Roush 5XR Mustang

Roush, the well-known American tuner specialized in the eye-catching Ford Mustang, whose work we already know well, just take a look at his Mustang SR-71 to get an idea of the quality of the work presented by this North American tuner.

On this occasion the work presented has been named Roush 5XR and, as you will surely have guessed, it is based on the Ford Mustang GT, a model that comes standard with a huge 5.0-litre V8 engine which Ford delivers 412 horsepower, a figure that Roush must feel is a bit short, hence the installation of a massive R2300 ROUSHcharger supercharger.

Thanks to the installation of the aforementioned Roush supercharger, the car has reached a final output of 525 horsepower with an incredible peak torque of no less than 630 Nm. Incredible performance, but it could easily tear your wonderful car in two, which is why Roush had to reinforce the chassis, as well as install anti-roll bars, an improved suspension and even a revised six-speed manual gearbox.

To handle such a flood of power, Roush has relied on 20-inch alloy wheels of its own manufacture, wrapped in Cooper RS3 tyres that reveal a new braking system with 14-inch discs and four-piston calipers.

As for the styling, as you can see Roush has developed a complete body kit consisting of bumpers, side skirts, a bulged bonnet… Meanwhile, inside, Roush has opted for something simple yet effective: upholstering the entire cabin in leather with piping, along with certain details for the instrument cluster, pedals, gear knob…
