Saab: 16 new cars leave the Trollhättan factory

The Saab factory in Trollhättan finally got moving today, rolling out the last Saab cars that had been frozen on the production line for months. Some of them, however, were not assembled to the official specifications…

In the context Saab is going through right now, this news, which may seem insignificant, is a balm for the battered Swedish brand. About 16 Saab vehicles were built today in Trollhättan.

But neither the Chinese have arrived with fresh cash in hand, nor has Victor Muller found some magic formula other than selling the brand to the Chinese. Simply put, the production line was being reconfigured, and the vehicles that had been left suspended were finished.

But when they tried to get the line moving again with the cars that remained (those that had been sitting on the production rails for months), they ran into an almost insurmountable problem: there were not enough parts to finish assembling the cars.

The solution was rather bizarre and consisted of searching for spare parts and the necessary components, literally under the tables. With far more luck than planning, it seems they have managed to bring to light the last survivors of the “Muller era,” apart from a few details.

Incredibly, some of these vehicles were not built following the exact manufacturing specification. A “small detail” that was apparently communicated in advance to the few buyers still waiting for their Saab.
