Nissan Qashqai X-Trail Industry SUV
Sales of Nissan are soaring due to the strong demand for its SUV models
Nissan is crowned the absolute leader in Spain in the SUV segment. Both the Qashqai and the X-Trail are the star models nationally and worldwide.

SUVs have not only managed to carve out a place in the market, but are also dominating it above all other segments. The arrival of this type of vehicle has been a real revolution in every respect, something they achieve thanks to their highly versatile design. If we combine this with value for money in line with what is on offer, we get a product with every chance of becoming a true best-seller, as the SUV models of Nissan and Infiniti are experiencing.
Thanks to a 12% increase in sales of the Japanese brand’s SUVs during 2017, Nissan is positioned as one of the segment leaders worldwide. Furthermore, Infiniti’s models have also seen a 9% sales increase, a very positive figure for the brand considering that its products are positioned in a more exclusive category.
These figures recorded by the Japanese group are global, but in Spain they have also been highly successful. Specifically, Nissan has grown 9% in our country thanks to the number of sales it achieved over the past year. To be more precise, the company has registered a total of 47,950 registrations of crossovers alone.

This is no surprise, since Nissan can be considered one of the pioneering brands of the SUV segment with the launch of the Qashqai in 2007. Since then, the company has more than 300,000 registrations behind it, with the Qashqai being the absolute leader among crossovers in Spain. Furthermore, the Nissan X-Trail has also been crowned the best-selling model in its segment on the national market, an element that helps Nissan keep the title intact.
This shows that more traditional and conservative 4x4s still enjoy a good reception in Spain, since Nissan sold 8,022 units of the X-Trail throughout 2017, representing growth of 23.6% compared with 2016. These numbers allowed the Japanese brand to set a new record, as it was the year in which the most units of this off-roader were sold.
Without a doubt, these figures are good news for Nissan, and ending 2017 with such success is a good omen for 2018
. The company will continue to look after the SUVs in its range, with the intention of staying true to the well-balanced value for money offered by both the Qashqai and the X-Trail.
