Savage Rivale GTR: the racing Roadyacht

The Savage Rivale GTR is an evolution of the Roadyacht GTS, with power outputs ranging from 700 to 800 hp.

I had to turn to our archive to recall this exotic Dutch sports car, finding that the Roadyacht GTS was the closest predecessor to this GTR, an evolution that Savage Rivale will put on the streets in a little while longer, competing with the brands that dominate this segment.

And speaking of segment brands, merely hearing the mention of the Savage Rivale GTR, its name doesn’t seem to suggest it can compete against those in its same category. But if we review some of this sports car’s data, we could argue the opposite: V8 engines of 700 to 800 hp to choose from, a total weight of 1,020 kilos, just a little above the final weight of… a Fiat 500 (980 kilos).

Power and low weight are what the Savage Rivale GTR boasts about most. But also its aggressive presence, the finished look, and a certain distinction that will set its owners apart. The chassis is built in carbon fiber, while access is through scissor doors. Once seated inside “the machine,” we’ll find a 6.2-litre V8 engine, a six-speed gearbox, almost open exhausts, and a turbo helping to unleash all the horsepower.

The acceleration figures back up this latest project from Savage Rivale: the GTR can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 360 km/h. And although only 69 units will be built in a limited edition, the price seems to match this sports car, since it will cost 141,250 euros in the Netherlands. In Spain, importing one of these will surely not be cheap, although for comparison, the most affordable Lamborghini sold in our country, the Gallardo LP 550-2 Coupé, is offered at 172,575 euros.
