SEAT has integrated the Amazon Alexa voice service into its cars. This system offers more than 50,000 functions.

SEAT has become the first European carmaker to integrate Amazon Alexa into its cars. The cloud-based voice service from Amazon is available from today in Spain and Italy, two markets joining the United Kingdom and Germany. From Monday 12 November, SEAT will also launch Amazon Alexa in France, giving its drivers access to a wide range of functions through simple voice commands.

With an increasingly busy pace of life, Alexa gives SEAT drivers the opportunity to make the most of their time on the road, whether managing personal planning, listening to music, navigating to points of interest, requesting personalised news or finding the nearest SEAT dealership.

Amazon Alexa was launched in 2014 and already has more than 50,000 skills, a range of capabilities constantly updated and developed thanks to the developers of the Alexa Skills Kit (ASK).

“Customers in the United Kingdom and Germany are already enjoying using Alexa to make the most of their time in the car and to access certain features in the safest way possible. We are excited to extend this functionality to customers in Spain, Italy and France, which will allow those with a compatible vehicle to check the weather, play music and much more, simply by using their voice,” says Luca de Meo, President of SEAT.

Amazon Alexa available on SEAT’s most important models

Amazon Alexa services are available on SEAT’s most representative models: Ibiza, Arona, León, Ateca and the new Tarraco. To access Alexa’s functions, simply press a button on the steering wheel or open the Amazon Alexa app located in the car’s infotainment system.

SEAT’s cutting-edge connectivity

It is worth recalling that SEAT was already the first car brand in the world to incorporate the Google Waze navigation system in its vehicles. It was also the first to offer the Shazam song recognition system and Full Link technology, compatible with iOS and Android devices, across its entire model range.
