SEAT integrates Shazam and now recognises music in its cars
Seat is the first car manufacturer to incorporate Shazam, the most popular song identification app, into its cars.
SEAT has become the first car manufacturer to integrate Shazam into its cars. The famous mobile song recognition app is now available to SEAT customers with just the touch of a button. SEAT’s Full Link connectivity system allows the driver to use the phone from the mobile screen, and through the SEAT “DriveApp” app for Android Auto, users can now use Shazam on the car’s infotainment system.

How does Shazam work in SEAT cars?
Identifying the music you are listening to on the car radio is now possible with Shazam, but above all, it is safe to do so… Simply select the Apps section from the main menu of the infotainment system (compatible with Android Auto) to find the Shazam app. Once activated, the smartphone’s microphone picks up a short audio sample of the music playing in the car and the app identifies the song.
Shazam analyses the captured sound and searches for a match in a database of more than 11 million songs. If it finds a match, it sends the user the album cover, the song title, the artist, additional information such as recommended songs and the option to buy or listen to the song.

The user can Shazam a song even if mobile coverage is lost during a journey, since the audio used to search the Shazam database is stored and, when coverage returns, it is automatically identified and added to the My Shazam list.
Shazam is already available on all SEAT cars
Shazam will be available on all SEAT vehicles equipped with SEAT DriveApp for Android Auto. Currently, this technology can be enjoyed in Spain, Germany and Switzerland, and it will soon be extended to Austria, France, Italy and the United Kingdom, followed by other markets compatible with Android Auto.
