The Polestar 1 is a feat of engineering, and its carbon fibre body proves it.

Polestar set out to offer the world a vehicle that is not only comfortable and luxurious, but also sporty. To achieve this, they used carbon fibre on its body.

The evolution of technology has been essential to the development of many of the systems we find in today’s cars; however, some car manufacturers have wanted to go further. Polestar is presented as a revolution for the automotive sector, since the Swedish brand has managed to combine exclusivity, sportiness, luxury, comfort and efficiency in one, but that is not all. Polestar has also relied on the development of the lightest materials for the sportiest cars, and that is why they have used a large amount of carbon fibre to finish off the Polestar 1.

The Swedish brand has not only wanted to offer the world an eye-catching model, but also a vehicle that is very capable on the road. To do so, Polestar not only had to incorporate a powerful engine to achieve the desired result, but also aerodynamics that match the whole, and, of course, a light weight. To achieve this, the brand derived from Volvo has turned not only to carbon fibre, but also to other very light materials.

When we stop to analyse the new Polestar 1, we get the feeling that we are looking at a vehicle that arrives to compete in the GT category, but the brand has wanted to give much more meaning to its concept. The Polestar 1 arrives to offer a perfect combination of comfort and sportiness, something the Swedish brand demonstrates with its supercar-style mechanics and the materials used during its manufacture.

The engineers at Polestar have managed to reduce its weight by 230 kilograms through the use of carbon fibre, a material that is constantly spreading throughout its body. They have achieved this by using this material to create the body of the Polestar 1, since it is the ideal candidate not only to make it light, but also more dynamic.

To do so, carbon fibre has been used to create certain parts such as the bonnet, the boot lid, the side panels or the roof structure. In this way the Polestar 1 stands out as one of the lightest vehicles in its segment, so that its performance is considerably enhanced not only by its powerful engine, but also by the highly effective result that the Swedish sports car is able to deliver.

The use of carbon fibre has been crucial, since it not only stands out as a light material, but also a strong and slim one, which has allowed the engineers to create the roofline more easily. In this way, the Polestar 1 arrives not only as a revolution for the automotive world, but also for the development of these.
