Seat Leon ST: the Guardia Civil's new car
The Guardia Civil has purchased 249 units of the estate version of the Seat Leon, the best-selling car in our country in 2018.
The Guardia Civil is renewing its fleet, and to do so it has turned to SEAT. The Spanish police force has acquired 249 units of the SEAT León ST (estate bodywork) to carry out its duties. Of this new fleet, some units will go to the uniformed vehicle pool and another part to unmarked vehicles.
A SEAT León with estate bodywork and 150 CV

The new Seat Leon ST vehicles of the Guardia Civil feature a 2.0 TDI diesel engine producing 150 CV of power. This powertrain is paired with the popular DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox, which has performed so well in VAG group cars.
The variant chosen by the Guardia Civil for its duties offers an excellent balance between consumption (environmental label C) and performance, as well as excellent dynamic behaviour and ride comfort.
“The SEAT León ST gives us the opportunity to regain the trust of the state security forces in our brand, which supports national products just as they did for years with models such as the SEAT 124, 131, 132 and Exeo, among others,” says Arantxa Esteban, Director of Special Sales and Used Vehicles at SEAT Spain.
The 249 León ST units delivered feature the extensive equipment of the FR trim, as well as several specific kits for patrol and unmarked vehicles, among which the following stand out: communication antenna equipment, acoustic and luminous warning systems, and all the equipment required by the Guardia Civil authorities.

The Guardia Civil backs “Brand Spain”
In this way, the Guardia Civil once again backs a Spanish product, as it already did in July 2018 when it acquired 300 units of the SEAT León ST X-Perience 2.0 TDI CR with 150 CV and seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox, destined for the Ertzaintza vehicle pool, purchased by the Basque Government.
This situation in turn confirms SEAT as one of the benchmarks when it comes to supplying the main institutions. We should also not forget that the Spanish manufacturer holds the highest position in terms of vehicle production in Spain. The Seat Leon was the best-selling vehicle in Spain in 2018, followed by the Ibiza in second place.
