Shelby F-150 Super Snake, the most radical version of the pick-up goes into production

The Ford F-150 is a pick-up that always catches the eye because it is not just a functional truck, but also offers features very suited to the rough terrain its occupants will have to cross to do their work. But even though it is very spectacular, it can be improved. And to do that, the Shelby F-150 Super Snake variant has been updated.

This radical version of the Ford F-150 was built by the brand as a concept model to be presented at the SEMA 2019, although this week the cat was let out of the bag when it was announced that this model will go into production. It will be a very limited release of only 250 units during 2020, for a select few lucky buyers.

Powerful exterior styling

The differences between this Shelby version and the F-150 are plain to see. To begin with, it features a new front bumper, along with new body trim, 22-inch wheels and a braking system with red brake calipers, which are visible. The load bed is carpeted and has a cover that improves the vehicle’s aerodynamics.

The interior has also received improvements, so we can find custom leather seats with elements unique to this variant. The instrumentation has also been created specifically for this model, and there is custom decoration designed to be enjoyed.

Specific 770 CV engine

In the Shelby F-150 Super Snake we find a 5.0-litre V8 engine that delivers 395 CV. But if you drive a vehicle like this, you want an engine that adds more spice to the driving. That spice comes from an engine modification that allows this same engine to reach 770 CV thanks to the turbo and other performance-enhancing elements.

It takes 0 to 100 km/h acceleration down to 3.45 seconds, which is not bad at all for a vehicle designed for hard work. The suspension and exhaust have also been improved, with the exhaust replaced by a Borla exhaust.

The vehicle will reach dealerships in 2020, and note that a “limited number” of Shelby F-150 Super Snake has been reserved for the international market, so there is a real chance that several of them will arrive in Europe and, why not, in Spain.
