Clearly the phrase “too much is not enough” applies perfectly to the philosophy of the Ford GT, because Shelby has just introduced a new package for the 2011 Ford GT 500.

The new package, nicknamed Super Snake of which only 1,000 units will be sold, in addition to exterior features such as white stripes on the upper part of the hood, the roof and the boot, introduces a modified engine that will deliver 800 CV, turning the Ford GT 500 into a true beast.

Shelby worked alongside the competition division of Ford to develop the package which, together with the powerful engine, includes a lower and adjustable suspension, a 6-speed manual gearbox and three supercharger kits, one that delivers around 660 CV, an intermediate kit that brings the GT 500’s power to 750 CV and the most powerful one that produces 800 CV.

All three kits include a Borla exhaust pipe, 20-inch wheels, a short-throw shifter, drilled brakes with ventilated rotors and cooling ducts for the front brakes.

The price of the package is quite high; for example, the price for the 750 CV kit amounts to just under 30,000 euros including installation, but obviously excluding the price.
