ŠKODA KUSHAQ: this is the new SUV from the Czech brand for India
The Indian market is one of the most important in the world, and ŠKODA is preparing an SUV designed exclusively for this continuously growing market

ŠKODA is starting to have a strong presence in the Asian market and, after the arrival of its first two SUVs in this market, has launched a new model aimed at the Indian subcontinent, one of the most important markets in the world. Following the KODIAQ and the KAROQ, the Czech brand is preparing the launch of its new offering for India, the ŠKODA KUSHAQ.
This is the first model from the brand to use the new MQB-A0-IN platform, which is based on the already well-known MQB platform used by other cars in the group Volkswagen. This version is designed to deliver maximum performance on India’s streets and roads and is adapted to more local use.

The spacious interior is defined by a wheelbase of 2,651 millimetres, so it is quite roomy and offers good comfort for the five occupants of the vehicle. The robust and large appearance is enhanced by the huge wheels, and its look is reminiscent of larger SUVs.
This model will come in several trim levels, which can feature LED lights, both daytime running lights and headlights. These are also present at the rear, so the light signature is very modern and recognisable. In terms of equipment, it will include driver assistance systems and infotainment controlled by a large central multimedia screen.

Both the driver’s seat and the steering wheel are height-adjustable, which allow the person in that position to adjust both elements to their preferences. The interior temperature is regulated by different types of air conditioning or climate control, depending on the chosen trim, and safety is backed by the inclusion of several airbags. The front airbags are standard, and additional ones can be added elsewhere in the vehicle as an option.
Two engines for the KUSHAQ
Initially, the ŠKODA KUSHAQ will be available with two engine options, both petrol. They will be a 1.0 TSI engine and a 1.5 TSI, initially paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, a 6-speed automatic, or a DSG gearbox. Initially it will only be available with front-wheel drive.
The new SUV will be presented in India in March, and that is when we will see it in detail.
