Skoda presents the new Yeti

Mercedes-Benz didn’t wait even twenty-four hours to present the GLA this morning, between the teaser video and the subsequent leaks. The same has happened to Skoda, since after yesterday’s reveal of the new look of the Yeti, the brand has decided to officially announce it today. Although we were able to give you a preview of some of its new features, the Czech crossover still had even more surprises in store.

For example, the external design will change depending on the version chosen. The Yeti will now be offered in a standard version, with mouldings and bumpers painted in body colour, and in the Outdoor, which will have these elements in black plastic, just like the previous model. It will also feature four alloy wheels and new exterior colours.

Inside, the cabin will stand out for its revamped seats, more fabric options available, different decorative finishes and the new three-spoke steering wheel. The list of practical interior solutions includes a removable LED light in the boot, a litter bin in the driver’s door, a space to store the emergency vest, or a double floor in the boot.

The range of engines, gearboxes and drivetrains remains identical, but new combinations have been introduced. The 1.6 TDI with 105 CV, available on the Yeti GreenLine or with the Green tec pack, can now be paired with the DSG transmission, while the more powerful 2.0 TDI, the 170 CV unit, will come with all-wheel drive and a DSG gearbox.

Skoda has announced the introduction to the Yeti’s equipment list of the Park Assist with rear camera. This system can automatically park the vehicle in reverse in a parallel space and pull it out again. Another new feature is the KESSY keyless automatic locking and starting system.
