The Audi RS Q3 starts production in Spain

Audi has reason to celebrate. The RS Q3, one of the spiciest SUVs of recent months, starts production these days at the Seat plant in Martorell, where the other versions of the Q3 are already built.
It is the most powerful vehicle ever built in series in our country, which speaks volumes about the German brand’s confidence in Spain.
The RS Q3 becomes the first SUV from the brand to carry the RS badge, also becoming the most powerful series-production vehicle built at the Martorell factory.
This distinction is due to its engine, the award-winning 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder inline, already fitted to other four-ring models such as the RS3 or the TTRS.
In this model it delivers 310 CV and 420 Nm, making it the least powerful option within this engine family, yet sufficient to take the RS Q3 from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds, reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

To transfer all this power to the asphalt, and as it could not be otherwise, the RS Q3 relies on the permanent quattro all-wheel-drive system, which uses a multi-plate clutch to vary in real time the percentage of power sent to each axle. However, this does not mean the RS Q3 is at odds with efficiency, quite the opposite.
It achieves an average consumption of 8.8 litres per 100 kilometres, thanks among other things to Start&Stop (for the first time on this engine), the intelligent oil pump and the engine’s direct injection.
The first orders will reach dealerships in mid-autumn, with a list price of 62,400 euros.
