Skoda Rapid: new engine and new diesel version

Skoda has decided to introduce some changes to the Rapid range in order to improve the consumption and emissions levels of the Czech brand’s models in our country. From August onwards, we will have a new diesel engine in the Rapid and a new variant, equipped with fuel-saving technology. Minor changes to interior trim and equipment are also being introduced.

The new engine that the Skoda Rapid will receive is the new 1.6 diesel producing 90 CV, fitted with a diesel particulate filter. This engine will be available with the seven-speed DSG transmission and the five-speed manual. This new diesel will be part of a new Green tec version of the Rapid that will surely appeal to those looking for economy at the pump.

The 90 CV Green tec version comes with a start-stop system, brake energy recovery and low-rolling-resistance tyres. With these new features, the Rapid Green tec has been homologated with consumption of 3.9 l/100 km and just 104 g/km of CO2 emissions.

Inside, the Rapid has also received a refresh, although the modified details are not as numerous. Even so, a new three-spoke steering wheel will be incorporated in all versions, along with new decorative trim finishes, seats with new designs and a new radio in the Ambition and Elegance. For the Active and Ambition variants, the grey colour of the centre console and doors will be updated.
