Skoda studies the arrival of an Octavia RS with 280 CV

Octavia rs 1

The Czech brand, owned by the VW Group, is studying the possibility of adding an extra boost of power to the Octavia RS, one of its best-known models.

This would be a very special edition that would likely be built to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 130 RS, a rally car that brought many victories to Skoda.

Skoda aims to create a saloon capable of standing up to vehicles with more prestige, thanks to a distinctive style and first-class performance. All of this combined with a price that is very competitive, close to 35,000€.

The technical base of this Octavia RS would likely be taken from the Seat León Cupra, using the 2.0 TSI engine that the Spanish compact currently uses. While the Leon can be chosen with two power levels (265 and 280 CV), the Czech model will not offer the less powerful option.

Octavia RS 4

Just like the current Octavia RS, this special version will keep front-wheel drive, although it will receive a new suspension and steering setup, as well as larger wheels and a louder exhaust system.

It is also expected to debut a more aggressive exterior look, typical of a 280 CV saloon with sporty aspirations. In short, a very special edition that, should it see the light of day, will become one of the Skoda with the best performance in recent years.
