Smart has launched in the UK a variant of the Fortwo under the name Smart Fortwo Lightshine. Based on the model with the 0.8 CDI 54 CV Coupé engine and Passion trim, it incorporates a number of elements both in its aesthetic design and in improvements that help reduce emissions levels.

Let’s start with the exterior, as it can be told apart at first glance by its matt green bodywork. It also features some new elements such as a strip of LED daytime running lights and new wheels that give the city car a sportier look.

Moving to the cabin, it comes loaded with extra equipment compared with the standard model. It now has a navigation system with a CD/DVD/SD reader and a sport steering wheel with paddle shifters. You will also find commemorative inscriptions on certain details of the edition, such as the floor mats.

Under the bonnet, it uses the 0.8 CDI producing 54 CV, which achieves a consumption of only 3.3 litres per 100 km, while its CO2 emissions reach 86 g/km. Finally, it’s worth noting that only 86 units will be available at a price of £11,405.
