The special launch edition of the Volkswagen Passat Variant R-Line Edition combines exclusivity and sportiness in an environment suitable for the whole family

The newly launched Volkswagen Passat makes a bold bet on its most family-oriented version, giving it a sportier character thanks to the limited edition as Volkswagen Passat Variant R-Line Edition.

In this way, the variant of the new model will offer a production run of 2,000 units exclusive to this launch edition, a trim that will be marketed as the Volkswagen Passat Variant R-Line Edition.

In terms of design, the aesthetic appeal of this series stands out at first glance thanks to a body colour called “Moonstone Grey”. In addition, black-painted parts are scattered across the bodywork to offer greater contrast. But it is the roof that takes up the largest surface area, in “black gloss”.

Other distinctive elements compared with the rest of the range enhance its sportiness, for example the Pretoria alloy wheels, whose diameter is set at no less than 19 inches.

As might be expected, the R-Line logos appear in the four main viewpoints: one on the front grille, another on the tailgate and one on each front wheel arch.

Standard on this edition, the headlights with the IQ.Light LED Matrix system provide daytime and night-time lighting at exceptional levels.

Inside, the Volkswagen Passat Variant R-Line Edition elegant black colour predominates. The Nappa leather seats proudly display the R-Line badge, and they pair with a steering wheel that offers an ergonomic design and materials more typical of sporty versions than of unpretentious family cars racing.

Likewise, the door panels and some dashboard inserts come in a finish that simulates carbon fibre and that contrast elegantly with the sobriety of the metallic finish of other elements.

As for technology, there is the now-familiar 9.2-inch Digital Cockpit, which accompanies the driving from the seat of whoever takes the controls of the Volkswagen Passat Variant R-Line Edition, through to the infotainment screen which, to ensure the car’s connectivity with the outside world, includes an eSIM.

But, above all, the Travel Assist system offers a level of autopilot that partially intervenes up to 210 km/h, adjusting the car’s trajectory and accelerating or braking depending on the driving situation. In addition, the driver assistance system monitors the activity taking place in front of the car, looking for possible pedestrians on the roadway in order to avoid collisions.
