Spy photos: Mercedes C55 AMG Coupe

On this occasion, thanks to the guys at WorldCarFans, we have the chance to see the latest spy photos taken of one of the most anticipated models at the moment, none other than the Mercedes C-Class Coupé, and if we add its most extreme version, signed by AMG, the interest is guaranteed.

As you can see in the spy photos, the model has lost a lot of camouflage. In fact, only certain parts such as the headlights and the front and rear bumpers remain hidden, leaving practically the entire side exposed, so it is very easy to see how it is practically a copy of the C-Class saloon.

As for the peculiarities of this new AMG, it incorporates certain elements such as a much more aggressive and above all more attractive styling kit, a larger rear spoiler, as well as alloy wheels and an exhaust system signed by AMG itself. Naturally, behind the new alloy wheels we can see a new braking kit that is much more powerful than that fitted to the “basic” model.

Mechanically, we cannot yet see anything, although the rumour of a new V8 engine of 5.5 litres with twin-turbo is gaining strength, replacing the unit fitted to the saloon version, which, as you well know, is a 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V8 capable of surprising with its 451 CV and 600 Nm of maximum torque.

With this new engine, the C-Class AMG Coupé will “only” be able to offer its owner a final output of 428 CV, a figure that will place the model on a par with, for example, the M3 E92 with 420 CV or the RS5 with Audi of 450 CV. As a curiosity, it is worth noting the incorporation of a system capable of deactivating several cylinders to improve its fuel efficiency.
