Spy photos: Opel Astra Cabrio strips down for you

Thanks to the spy photo taken by the guys at WorldCarFans, we can finally see the new Opel Astra Cabrio more or less in the buff. As you will surely know if you’re interested in it, it should reach the market at the end of next year, so this should basically be the first of a long list of spy photos showing how this attractive German is taking shape.

On this occasion we are looking at a prototype which, while it is undeniable that it belongs to the Opel Astra Cabrio, shows us a vehicle that could basically pass for a stretched Astra GTC with the roof cut off in pure Top Gear style, which curiously still retains elements such as the door frames.

On the other hand, it should be noted that although the model is shown with its roof folded and with a somewhat “outlandish” bodywork, the photographers behind this new picture said they had seen, moments earlier, an Astra equipped with a white fabric soft top. That should translate into lower weight, which would mean a car that is not only lighter but also more efficient than the previous generation.
