Spyker takes the lead over Genii Capital in the race for Saab

Although nobody has mentioned anything about the sale of Saab for a few days now, negotiations have continued between GM and the interested parties who have offered the most so far: Genii Capital and Spyker.

In fact, a spokesperson for Genii Capital announces that Spyker (their rivals in the bidding), is the one furthest along and could end up with Saab towards the end of next week. It is striking that it is a competitor who predicts the outcome, which tips the balance almost entirely in favour of the Dutch, since they have first-hand information.

Spyker has reportedly already reached an offer of around 500 million dollars for Saab. It has had to raise its offer three times, in the face of GM’s passive stance and Genii’s successive offers, and says it has everything needed to continue developing the brand with new models and the long-awaited financial recovery.
