The time has come to set aside all those attractive concepts and see what Subaru will actually sell as the BRZ, a coupé with a markedly sporty character that has finally left behind all those details we liked so much in Los Angeles

What you see on screen is the production Subaru BRZ, officially presented a few days before its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show, a vehicle that this time features a new front bumper with a nose very similar to that of the Peugeot RCZ, or a completely different rear diffuser, leaving everything else exactly as Subaru showed it in Los Angeles

For now the Subaru BRZ STI will remain on the drawing board, at least until the Japanese company verifies that demand for this high-performance version is sufficient to justify and, above all, offset the development costs.

Mechanically the BRZ stays as it is: its main weapon is a 200 hp engine initially paired with a six-speed manual gearbox; an automatic with the same number of gears will optionally be offered, to move a vehicle that weighs just 1,180 kg
