Suzuki eVX Concept: the prelude to the Japanese brand's first all-electric SUV
Under the name eVX Concept, Suzuki has unveiled the prototype that will pave the way for its first fully electric vehicle, scheduled for launch in 2025
On the occasion of the Auto Expo 2023 show on the outskirts of Delhi, India, Suzuki unveiled its new Suzuki eVX Concept, a fully electric concept car that previews the brand’s first model to feature a 100% electric propulsion system, and which is also set to arrive next year, in 2025.
The launch of this concept car forms part of the global electrification strategy of the Japanese brand. As the President of Suzuki has stated, the company is promoting a series of measures worldwide to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and thereby adapt to the era of electrification, which will gain more prominence in the coming years.

Designed to be instantly recognised as a Suzuki
Starting with the design of this new prototype, it is quite striking that, despite being a concept, its look is fairly consistent with current market trends, such as muscular wheel arches and angular shapes, horizontally arranged rear light clusters running across the entire tailgate, or plastic-finish cladding in the purest SUV style.
The brand has placed special emphasis on the fact that the exterior of this new model has been designed to be instantly recognised as a Suzuki SUV, carrying “the brand’s great 4×4 legacy into the new electric era”.
From the front, the new Suzuki eVX Concept features a sharply pointed, forward-set nose, C-shaped LED light units, a fully closed bumper with the Suzuki logo backlit at the centre, and a front bumper incorporating a metallic-finish trim to bring out its more rugged side.

Aerodynamically efficient
Viewed from the side, the silhouette of the new concept stands out for its pronounced wheel arches and raised hips, its faired alloy wheels, its camera-based side mirrors and its flush door handles. All these elements create an image that will likely remain quite similar in the production version due in 2025.
Finally, as mentioned, the rear of the model features LED tail lights running across the bodywork from side to side, a small spoiler on the upper part of the tailgate, model name lettering in the centre, and a bumper which, like the front, combines a plastic-finish section with a metallic-finish trim along the lower part.
Pending further details such as performance, Suzuki has announced that the model measures 4,300 millimetres in length, 1,800 millimetres in width and 1,600 millimetres in height. In addition, the battery capacity of this concept is 60 kWh and its homologated range is 550 kilometres under the Indian MIDC homologation cycle.
