Suzuki shows us the new Swift ahead of its presentation at the Geneva Motor Show

The new Suzuki Swift 2017 will go on sale on January 4, although it will not reach international markets until the city car is presented at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, which will mark the car’s arrival in the rest of the countries

The new Suzuki Swift has been spotted in some places on the road, but in disguised prototype form, so we did not have a clear picture of its bodywork details. Now, and before it arrives at the Geneva Motor Show next year, the Japanese brand has decided to show us more details of the car, with a fairly complete image gallery in which we can see the new model in considerable detail.

What you will see in the photos is the version for the domestic market, so the car has the steering wheel on the right-hand side. It will be offered in seven trim levels, with three engine variants. The entry-level engine will be a 1.2-litre block, although a hybrid version will also be offered, along with a more sporty RS version that will have a 1.0-litre turbo engine.

As for power figures, we still lack the information needed to know what we are dealing with. What we do know is that the hybrid version will be paired with a CVT gearbox, while the entry-level engine will come standard with a five-speed manual gearbox. We also know that it can be ordered with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, although the turbo version will only be available with front-wheel drive.

In terms of safety, the new Swift will feature a range of driver assistance systems as standard, such as cruise control, a collision mitigation system and others that allow the driver to enjoy greater safety during journeys. The new Suzuki Swift will go on sale in Japan on January 4, although it will not reach international markets until it is presented in Geneva. Either way, this gives us a reasonable idea of the specifications to expect in international markets.

In the meantime, you can enjoy these images of the little Suzuki, which has a new look but still recalls the current model.
