Suzuki will launch the fourth and final generation of the Swift this spring
With more than 20 years of history and four incredible updates, the Suzuki arrives this year with a restyling that will bring improvements to engines and performance

The Suzuki Swift, a benchmark in the history of Suzuki, has everything ready to amaze the world with a restyling of this model, which is making a strong impact on the market. After twenty years of history and more than 9 million units sold, the Swift presents its fourth and final generation, and it will be this spring when they announce the last update received by this bestseller.
First Generation: (2004-2010)
In 2004, the Suzuki Swift made an incredible leap in the automotive market with the launch of its first generation. This launch was a before and after for the brand, since for the first time the Swift was designed and developed in Europe to meet the needs of the widest possible range of drivers. Inspired by European emotion and safety, the Swift offered not only exciting performance but also safe driving, thanks to a completely new chassis and extensive testing on European roads.

The Swift’s revolutionary design combined dynamism and comfort with elegance, with sharp lines and curved shapes that created a unique and attractive aesthetic. Inside, simplicity and functionality were paired with a lack of technology, with a focus on comfort and practicality. Equipped with efficient engines, the Swift set new standards in fuel consumption and emissions, consolidating its position as a leader in its class.
Second Generation: (2010-2016)
The arrival of the second generation of the Suzuki Swift in 2010 marked another milestone in the history of Suzuki. Building on the success of its predecessor, this new iteration featured a bolder and more refined design, with more defined and expressive lines. In addition, safety was significantly improved, earning five stars in Euro NCAP thanks to a lighter and stiffer body, and a wide range of active and passive safety features.

Inside, the Swift offered more space and comfort thanks to an increase in exterior dimensions. The vehicle’s dynamic behavior was further improved, with greater rigidity, a longer wheelbase and all-wheel drive available for the first time. Under the hood, the sportier variants of the Swift delivered impressive performance with low emissions, highlighting its commitment to efficiency and sustainability.
The sportier variants of the Swift were equipped with a 1.6-litre engine that combined high power (100 kW, 136 CV) with low emissions (147 g/km). The basic 1.4-litre engine recorded one of the lowest emissions figures (116 g/km) in its segment.

Third Generation: (2017-2024)
The third incarnation of the Swift underwent a drastic transformation, evolving into a more sophisticated and technological vehicle by incorporating hybridisation. The Heartect platform provided greater rigidity, improving dynamics and reducing weight by 120 kg. In addition, the 1.2 DUALJET engine was optimised, delivering a 5% performance boost, and the BOOSTERJET was introduced with SHVS technology in 12V and 48V variants.

The exterior design retained its original essence but was modernised with details such as LED headlights and a stylised air intake. The interior took a leap in quality with a 4.2-inch LCD screen in the instrument panel and a 7-inch touchscreen, with full smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth, USB port and compatibility with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto™ or MirrorLink, a foray by Suzuki into technology.

Fourth Generation: (2024)
The Suzuki Swift was radically transformed in its third edition, introducing hybrid technology for the first time and elevating its status to a more sophisticated and technological car. In its fourth generation, the Swift features a retro-futuristic design that blends classic elements with modern innovations. With more pronounced lines and a more streamlined silhouette, this version keeps the basic dimensions of the original model but with a renewed touch.

The new Swift’s interior offers improved comfort and ergonomics, with a wraparound two-tone dashboard and satin silver details. A 9-inch HD touchscreen dominates the dashboard, with smartphone integration and a variety of connected features.
Under the hood, the Swift features a three-cylinder, 1.2-litre engine producing 83 CV of power and a 12 V mild-hybrid SHVS system for outstanding efficiency. It also offers AllGrip Auto all-wheel drive, making it unique in its segment. Safety has also been improved, with the Advanced Safety System (DSBS II) and new driver assistance systems, such as lane keeping assist and driver monitoring system.
