Tank 300 Frontier, the Chinese SUV that adds an electric mountain bike

When we think of cars coming from China, we tend to picture electric vehicles or city-focused models, even though there are also combustion-engine cars. But the Chinese market is very large and there are also off-road vehicles, built to tackle very demanding terrain and make a weekend in the countryside more enjoyable. In the case of the Tank 300 Frontier, there is also an electric mountain bike included.

The Tank 300 Frontier is a version of this model, designed to add an extra dimension to the experience. The version we are looking at has been fitted with more refined equipment for adventure. At the front, the word TANK has been added to the grille, the bonnet has been modified to make it more voluminous, and a snorkel has been fitted to the exhaust.

The bodywork has been painted yellow and black vinyl graphics have been added. An off-road bumper with a protection bar and an integrated winch has also been fitted. The equipment is completed with lower body protection, larger mudguards, and the load capacity has been increased with a roof rack.

The suspension has been modified to provide more ground clearance, and 18-inch wheels complement the vehicle’s powerful, athletic look. Propulsion comes from a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. This unit produces 224 CV and a maximum torque of 387 Nm. All this power is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

An electric mountain bike

To get the most out of this vehicle, you need the electric mountain bike included with this special edition. It comes from a Chinese company called Buxus and is based on its EVA model. It has a 1 CV motor powered by a removable 20 Ah battery, which offers a range of 100 kilometres.

Curiously, this electric mountain bike is limited to 300 units, the same number as the vehicle, so it cannot be purchased separately.
