Tata Electric Cars Concepts Eventos Geneva Motor Show Technology Urban
Tata Nano EV, the small electric car

For some time now I have had the feeling that Tata is running behind. It has interesting new developments, but everything ends up staying at the level of intentions. The European Tata Nano has still not reached the market, and projects such as the Prima saloon concept, which it presented at last year’s Geneva Motor Show, are also a shame, since no way has been sought to take them into development.
And for this year’s Geneva Motor Show it is back with another novelty: the electric version of the European Tata Nano, which should accompany the electric Indica (another one that is being delayed in arriving). While we wait for the Tata Nano, expected in 2012, we are left with this year’s novelty, its electric version with a motor that produces 40 kW (54.4 CV).

The range will be 160 km on a charge of its lithium-ion polymer batteries. It also offers a top speed of 110 km/h, and we do not know more details about performance or prices, but judging by the model and given that it has room for four occupants, it could be an interesting rival to the Peugeot iOn or the Citroën C-Zero.
