Tesla announces first-quarter 2026 sales and production figures
The Tesla Model 3 and Model Y continue to account for the vast majority of the company’s sales, while its energy storage business reached 8.8 GWh.
Tesla has released its production and delivery figures for the first quarter of 2026. As is customary at the beginning of the year, the start has been moderate. The company delivered 358,023 electric vehicles to its customers, and all of its factories produced a total of 408,386 vehicles. A cautious start but, in any case, better than the one recorded in the same period last year.
Looking back, it is worth recalling that in the first quarter of 2025 the American manufacturer reported a production volume of 362,600 vehicles, and deliveries stood at 336,700 units. This means that, compared with these figures, production in the first quarter of 2026 has grown by 12.6 percent, while deliveries have increased by 6.3 percent.

Although these first-quarter 2026 figures cannot be considered bad, they do not mark any record either. In 2025, deliveries fell 9.1 percent compared with the previous year, and the first-quarter 2026 numbers point more to stabilisation than to a strong recovery. There is also a significant drop compared with the traditionally strong fourth quarter, which in 2025 recorded 434,358 vehicles produced and 418,227 delivered.
Other important data to consider
The best-selling models are still the Model 3 and Model Y, which accounted for the vast majority of activity, with 394,611 units produced and 341,893 delivered. The rest of the range -Model S, Model X and especially the Cybertruck- contributed much more modest figures, with only 13,775 vehicles produced and 16,130 delivered. Let us recall that Tesla has already withdrawn both the Model S and Model X from its catalogue and now only sells inventory units, which will affect production and delivery figures in the coming quarters.
Finally, it should be noted that Tesla has also reported on its energy storage business. The company says that in the first quarter it deployed 8.8 GWh in residential storage systems and large-scale batteries for commercial use. A figure clearly lower than the 12.5 GWh delivered in the third quarter of 2025.

The definitive data on how these figures translate into revenue and profit will be known on April 22, when the company publishes its first-quarter financial results.
