Tesla begins delivering the first units of the updated 2025 Model Y to European customers
Tesla has officially started global sales of the updated 2025 Model Y, aiming to reclaim this year the title of best-selling car in the world that it already achieved in 2023 with the previous generation.
The most anticipated day for many European fans of the American carmaker has finally arrived. Just as in China and North America, Tesla has also begun delivering the first units of the updated 2025 Model Y in Europe, also known as “Juniper”. These first units belong to the special launch edition, but within a matter of weeks, customers who have reserved a unit of any of the other versions already on sale are also expected to receive theirs.
It was last Friday, 7 March, when Tesla announced on social media – especially on X – the delivery of the first units, and many more followed in the days after, up to today. Some fans of the brand had already reported in the previous days that they had seen several trucks driving along German motorways loaded with the vehicles, covered with fabric so they could not be identified.

Tesla announced the availability of the special launch edition of the Model Y in Spain and other European markets at the end of last January, with a base price in the Spanish market of 61,970 euros. This special launch edition was based on the Long Range version with dual electric motors and all-wheel drive, with some additional aesthetic differentiations.
Technical specifications of the special 2025 Model Y edition
At the time of the launch of this special edition, the American manufacturer announced a range of 568 km on a single charge, always under the WLTP cycle. It is also capable of reaching 100 km/h from a standstill in 4.3 seconds, with a top speed limited to 201 km/h.
It is worth highlighting, on the other hand, the limitation in the number of options when configuring a unit of the special launch edition of the 2025 Model Y. There were only two paint colours available – Solid Black and Mercury Silver – and both were included in the base price of the vehicle. The wheels also came as standard, 20-inch Helix 2.0 units, with no option to choose any other. The interior was only available in black, also as standard. The only optional element that could increase the price of this special launch edition of the 2025 Model Y was the level chosen for the driver assistance system of Tesla – Basic at no extra cost, Enhanced Autopilot for an additional 3,800 euros, or Full Self-Driving for 7,500 euros.

With this update, at Tesla they are confident that the 2025 Model Y can once again become the best-selling vehicle of the year worldwide, not only among electric cars but across the entire car market, as happened in 2023. The truth is that the technical improvements over the previous generation are significant, and its new design seems to be very well received by critics. Time will tell whether they finally achieve this goal, but the great work done by the brand’s engineers suggests it may be possible.
