Tesla Model 3 Standard: these are the performance figures of the

We already know the official technical specifications of the Tesla Model 3 Standard, the most affordable version of the electric saloon.

The Tesla Model 3 has always carried the label of Tesla “cheap”, but the reality is that the American company has already announced the arrival of a more affordable version to its lineup: the Tesla “Model C”. Either way, the cheapest Tesla model to date remains the Model 3 Standard, a variant whose production has not yet started; the Tesla Model 3 units delivered so far correspond to the “Long Range” version. The starting price of the Model 3 Standard is $35,000 (€30,375) and it is expected to begin production in mid-2019. Until now we did not know the technical specifications this Tesla Model 3 Standard would have, but the American company has just published the data so we can clear up any doubts.

The first thing Tesla has confirmed is the availability of the Dual Motor (all-wheel drive) on the standard version of the Model 3. The second is the range of the electric saloon: between 346 km and 354 km. We assume the greater range corresponds to the rear-wheel drive version (RWD), while the lower range corresponds to the Dual Motor variant (AWD).

Tesla Model 3 Performance

The rear-wheel drive version of the Model 3 will offer a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration of 5.6 seconds, while the all-wheel drive variant will do it in 5.1 seconds.

The weight of the car will range from 1,611 kg (RWD version) to 1,704 kg (Dual Motor). The car will also be offered with 18- or 19-inch wheels.

The Superchargers will not be free for the Tesla Model 3 Standard

The publication of these specifications hides a surprise that will disappoint many Tesla users: The standard Model 3 will not be able to use the Superchargers for free! Although it was not official, everything pointed to Tesla’s Superchargers being free for all Model 3 users. In the end, that has not been the case…
