Tesla planea un coche de bajo coste para dentro de tres o cuatro años

Tesla has a bright future ahead, after becoming one of the leaders of the electric vehicle landscape and after paying back what it owed to the US government. The electric brand has several models in the pipeline, one of them a low-cost car that will be accessible to a much wider audience.

The news has been confirmed by Elon Musk himself, who also faces a dilemma: sell or not sell the company, now that it is in a better position and no longer owes money? The answer says it all. Elon Musk says he might be able to sell it, but not now, not before launching an affordable vehicle that can revolutionize the market.

Musk is known for not holding back when expressing what he wants. In this case, he used the example of the Nissan Leaf, a car that “is cheap, but not a great car.” To fight the Leaf, Elon Musk has in mind a model with a range of 320 kilometers and a price of around 30,000 euros. Its launch was confirmed in the same note Musk gave to Bloomberg, in which he talks about it.

Now, will we ever really see Tesla’s low-cost model? Everything suggests yes, since Tesla now has financial independence, and the brand has pushed forward and has made each of its models stand out. When the Model S seemed like a folly in its early days, it now looks like a sedan that can compete head-to-head with the best in the segment and that features the most advanced electric technology. And if the Model S has managed it, I think a 30,000 euro car could go even further.
