The 1.6 TDI, 1.4 TSI and 2.0 TDI engines for the Beetle arrive in Spain

The two engines the Beetle had offered until now, the well-known 105 and 200 CV TSI units, will be joined in a few days by the 1.6 TDI diesel of 105 hp (one of the best sellers) and the petrol 1.4 TSI of 160 hp, plus the two-litre diesel.
The 1.4 TSI sits as an intermediate solution in the petrol range. With a maximum torque of 240 Nm between 1,500 and 4,500 rpm, it offers enviable performance: a top speed of 208 km/h and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds. All of this is complemented by a fuel consumption of 6.6 litres on the combined cycle.
As for the 1.6 diesel, its consumption is just 4.5 litres per 100 kilometres, with emissions of 119 grams of CO2 per kilometre, while its performance is a top speed of 180 km/h and 11.5 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h.
The 2.0 TDI 140 hp engine for the Beetle accelerates from 0 to 100 in just 9.4 seconds, delivering 320 Nm of torque from 1,750 rpm. Its consumption is just 4.9 litres per 100 kilometres on the combined cycle with the manual gearbox, and 5.4 litres with the DSG. This engine will be available for both the Design and Sport trims, and it comes as standard with a rear spoiler, just like the Beetle with the 160 CV TSI engine.
The recommended prices for the Beetle are as follows:
- Beetle Design 1.2 TSI 105 CV 21,120 €
- Beetle Design 1.4 TSI 160 CV 24,090 €
- Beetle Design 1.6 TDI 105 CV 22,710 €
