Countryman MINI Electric Cars Compact
The 100% electric version of the Countryman will begin production in November 2023
MINI announces the start of production of the 100% electric version of its Countryman model. Its development will begin in November 2023 in Leipzig, Germany

The largest model in the MINI range, the Countryman, today introduces a fully electrified, zero-emission version to its lineup: the MINI Countryman E. For the first time, the company gives us its first hints about the electric model, and it does so in extreme winter conditions of ice and snow. It will be the first model to be manufactured and assembled at the Leipzig plant in Germany, starting in November of this same year.
A plug-in hybrid version of the Countryman already exists, called§h7† MINI Cooper SE Countryman ALL4, with an additional 65 kW/88 CV electric motor. The model went on sale in 2017.
The new version, the MINI Countryman SE ALL4, is fully electric and emits no polluting gases into the atmosphere. This all-wheel-drive version uses an electric motor and two highly integrated drive units on the front and rear axles, which give it a power output of 313 CV. Its 64.7 kWh battery provides a range of up to 450 km on the WLTP cycle. The Countryman E version, however, has a power output of 140 kW/191 CV.
The new version of the five-door model brings a host of innovations in terms of both mechanics and design. The brand aims to achieve environmental compatibility in the production of the model and to combine it with zero-emission electromobility.

As the company points out, the “green plant” at the Leipzig facilities has four wind turbines that generate more than 20 GWh, demonstrating its path toward decarbonizing production through the replacement of fossil fuels with hydrogen. “The Group is expanding its in-house production capacity for electronic components across eight production lines by 2024 and investing more than 800 million euros,” making its concern for the environment and sustainability clear.
Innovative and sustainable interior
Due to the company’s commitment to environmental compatibility, it has been forced to do without several decorative elements both inside and outside the vehicle.
The next generation of MINI models focuses on minimizing their ecological footprint, and to that end has incorporated a high-quality, colorful and comfortable alternative in the manufacture of its interiors. The dashboard surfaces, steering wheel, roof, vehicle floor and floor mats are made from recycled polyester obtained from PET bottles and carpet offcuts. This approach has made it possible to reduce CO2 emissions across the value chain by 85%, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to the environment and sustainability.
Exterior of the Countryman E
The MINI Countryman E is a spacious vehicle designed for all types of terrain, offering greater comfort and space for its occupants compared with the previous model. With an increase of 13 centimeters in length, reaching 4,429 mm, this model provides more legroom and storage space inside the vehicle.

In addition, the height of the vehicle has been increased by almost six centimeters, reaching 1,613 mm, which provides more headroom and greater comfort on journeys. With these changes, the MINI Countryman E is designed to offer a broader and more comfortable driving experience, without compromising its iconic style or its high-quality electric performance.
By doing without several decorative elements, they have been able to fit it with lightweight cast alloy wheels with up to 70 percent secondary aluminum.
