The 5 best driver assistance systems you will find on the Citroën C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso
We highlight 5 of the driver assistance systems fitted to the Citroën C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso; these are the ones that come as standard across the brand’s entire range.

The technologies that represent the first stage of autonomous driving are already available on Citroën. The C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso are the French brand’s models that include the largest number of them. Below we list the five most notable driver assistance systems on these two MPVs.
1.- Blind Spot Monitoring System
The Active Blind Spot Monitoring System provides a visual warning on the mirrors when an object is detected in the blind spot (on both the right and the left). If the driver nevertheless attempts to move into another lane that is occupied, the system applies a slight resistance to the steering wheel, enough to discourage the manoeuvre and thereby avoid a collision.

2.- Unintentional Lane Change Warning
As a system to prevent the consequences of driver fatigue, the Active Unintentional Lane Change Warning activates from 65 km/h. Thanks to a camera mounted at the top of the windscreen, it identifies the road markings and automatically corrects the vehicle’s trajectory, and also alerts the driver if the indicators have not been activated.
3.- Coffee Break Alert

The Citroën C4 Picasso comes as standard with the Coffee Break Alert system, an assistant that, on long journeys, warns the driver when it is time to take a break. In addition, the Driver Attention Indicator emits an alert sound after the first unusual movement of the vehicle caused by a lapse in concentration, accompanied by a visual message.
2.- Active Safety Brake
Another function that anticipates what autonomous driving will be in the future is Active Safety Brake, an emergency braking system that helps avoid collisions. The camera mounted at the top of the windscreen detects obstacles such as a vehicle travelling in the same direction or one that is stationary. It operates from 5 km/h. If a possible collision situation is detected, the driver is warned. If the driver takes no action, the system brakes the vehicle automatically. This safety is reinforced from 30 km/h by the Collision Risk Alert, which warns the driver that the vehicle is at risk of colliding with the vehicle in front.

5.- Speed Sign Recognition
Speed Sign Recognition is the perfect assistant for avoiding a shower of fines on our record. This system recognises the road signs along the route we are travelling and displays an indicator on the infotainment screen of the C4 Picasso that tells us whether our speed is appropriate or not.
