The Aston Martin DB10

Over the past few days, four of the ten cars built for filming the new James Bond film, SPECTRE, have been seen during the shoot of some scenes in Rome, although we have not yet been able to see them in action

Today we want to bring you two videos that, at first glance, might not seem related to the motoring world. They might fit better with the content of Cinetelia, the film blog. But it turns out that, although both videos take us right onto the set of SPECTRE, the new James Bond film being shot across the length and breadth of Europe.

But it turns out that those of us who are driven by a passion for four wheels are going to feel interested, since we know that the cars that tend to appear in the films of the agent 007 saga are the most spectacular of the moment. And in this new instalment, that is no exception.

Although a modest Fiat 500 can be seen in the chases through the streets of Rome, we will also get to see the villain’s car, played by Christoph Waltz. And being a Bond villain, he is not going to get behind the wheel of just any car. It is the Aston Martin DB10, a prototype that never made it to the definitive production line. In case you haven’t seen it yet, even if only in photos, we can see it in motion during the filming of some scenes on the streets of Rome.

Only ten units of the Aston Martin DB10 have been built, although not all of them will survive the shoot intact. The four cars have been spotted on the street, patiently waiting for the call of “action”. These prototypes were built by hand and will become part of the extensive catalogue of cars that have taken part in the adventures of this intrepid fictional character.

This car will never have a production version, but part of its design will go on to form part of one model or another from the brand. This car has been designed exclusively for the film, since we are celebrating the first 50 years of the collaboration between Aston Martin and James Bond. A great way to celebrate it, as you can see in the following images, which show the car from the outside but also, very briefly, from the inside.
