The Audi A1 e-tron at the Geneva Motor Show

The official first data and images of the new Audi A1 e-tron model are unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. It will feature an electric motor with a power output of 75 kW, around 102 CV, which allows it to drive around town without emitting any emissions.
The A1 e-tron has a design with four seats inside and two doors, and it is designed mainly for daily use in urban traffic. The prototype shown in Geneva these days comes fitted with 20-spoke wheels measuring 18 inches.
Its exterior stands out for its rear diffuser with aluminium inserts, next to two front wings adorned with the e-tron lettering. Inside, it has a gear lever with a special design and covered in leather, and the prototype also features an instrument cluster with a virtual display.
However, the most distinctive feature of the A1 e-tron is its electric motor, which adds an internal combustion engine that recharges the battery when needed. This electric motor delivers a peak power output of 102 CV, while its continuous power drops to 61 CV,
with a maximum torque of 240 Nm. This means it needs about 10.2 seconds to reach 100 km/h from a standstill, with a top speed of 130 km/h. In addition, the electric motor that drives the A1 e-tron is able to convert deceleration energy into electrical energy and thus feed the on-board network.
Another feature of this vehicle is that when its battery is about to run out, a second secondary petrol Wankel engine kicks in, capable of generating enough energy to keep it running for about 50 km more with no emissions at all. While it recharges, the combustion engine provides an additional range of 200 km, allowing a greater operating radius than a conventional electric car.
