The Audi A4 unveils its new specifications for 2015

It will make its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, which takes place in September, but we can already take a look at the Audi A4, at least by reviewing what we know about its technical specifications, which will place it above the current version and give it a rather interesting image and character. Among these specifications is a new petrol engine that is being added to the current range.
The Audi A4 is expected to follow the line of the A3, which has once again put safety ahead of entertainment, but it seems that in this new generation, without losing sight of safety, the emphasis will be on driving enjoyment. It is said that the steering has been improved, which increases feedback from the road surface and allows the wheel to return quickly and smoothly to its centre position.
The platform on which this new Audi A4 is built is a smaller version of the steel and aluminium MLB platform seen in the Audi Q7. This has allowed the SUV to shed around 325 kg, while in the case of the A4 the weight saving is expected to be around 100 kg. In addition, according to the information available, it will feature multi-link suspension and adaptive dampers, offered as optional equipment.
On the outside, it receives a redesign that keeps the overall look of the model, making it fully recognisable. The biggest change is in the light cluster. But the strength of this car lies in its engines. The first of these is a 1.4 TFSI petrol engine, with cylinder deactivation technology and an output of 123 CV. In addition, there will be several 2.0 TDI diesel engines, with a top-of-range engine of 3.0 litres.
A plug-in hybrid e-tron version will also be included, running on a battery that provides a range of around 50 kilometres. It will be paired with a 2.0 TDI engine producing 187 CV. In addition, the new Audi A4 will feature autonomous driving technology, although in a limited form and mimicking the Q7, which allows it to accelerate, brake and keep the car safely in lane up to a speed of around 40 km/h.
