The Audi that could become the fastest car in the world
A rendering shows us the image of the hypercar that Audi is considering producing.
A few months ago, Audi expressed interest in developing a hypercar to rival models such as the upcoming Mercedes-AMG Project One, the Aston Martin Valkyrie or the Bugatti Chiron. The hypothetical model from the four-ring firm has even been nicknamed by many as the “Audi RS”, and here we have a small preview of what it could look like.
The model in the image was created by designer Milen Ivanov, and although it is only a rendering, we cannot rule out that the Bavarian brand may consider producing a car with similar characteristics in the future. Among the most striking elements that characterise the “Audi RS Concept” are its carbon fibre bodywork, its countless air intakes and a rear end that reminds us of the Chiron’s.

Two months ago, the head of Audi Sport, Stephan Winkelmann, expressed his interest in creating a hypercar that tests the value of his brand. “Manufacturing a limited edition with a high price in order to test the value of the brand could be a good idea,” says the CEO of Audi Sport. Winkelmann also stated that the extensive experience the German firm has in competition can help them in developing a hypercar. “Every car has to have a story to tell. We are speaking hypothetically, but I believe that there is potential for this type of car at Audi Sport, especially given our experience in the WEC or the GT3, for example,” declares the head of Audi Sport.

If it goes ahead, the Audi hypercar would have every chance of being a hybrid. “A hybrid hypercar would be perfect,” Winkelmann said in an interview with Top Gear.
In this regard, it should be noted that a few years ago a prototype already emerged – the Audi R10 Concept – which foreshadowed the arrival of a hybrid model of these characteristics at the German house. At that time, there was talk of a hypercar incorporating a twin-turbo V8 TFSI engine – the same one used in the current standard R8 – accompanied by an electric motor whose combined output would exceed 900 CV.

If Audi were to equip the hypothetical “RS” with performance like that of the “R10”, we would be talking about a direct rival to the fastest production models on this planet: the Bugatti Chiron, the Aston Martin Valkyrie or the new Mercedes-AMG Project One. The Valkyrie, for example, has a hybrid V12 engine that produces 900 CV, but above all it weighs less than 1,000 kg.
We will see whether Audi finally decides to develop its long-awaited hypercar; followers will not be lacking.
