The BCR Overlander is a pick-up turned into a camper that will take you to the end of the world

The trend of camperizing commercial vehicles has grown dramatically over the last few years. Now it is the turn of off-road vehicles, which have also begun to enter this increasingly large market. With these vehicles, the aim is for leisure trips to be able to cross terrain that a motorhome or a converted commercial van could not drive over.

The RAM 3500 is one of those off-road pick-ups so favoured by Americans, a vehicle designed for hard work and built to take on anything. Now, imagine that it were converted into a motorhome, with all the off-road capability the model has.

A very versatile off-road pick-up

This model has been modified by TruckHouse together with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) and has become a spectacular motorhome that will make a difference when it comes to venturing onto unpaved terrain. To start with, AEV has transformed it into the Prospector XL, which means it has a steel-reinforced bumper, auxiliary lights, new wheel arches, a snorkel for the exhaust and 17-inch wheels fitted with off-road tyres.

The weight problem of the living module has been solved by using carbon fibre for its construction. In addition, work has been done to improve the aerodynamics, which could hinder the motorhome’s movement. Air courtains have been installed at the front of the module to let air circulate and reduce the resistance it must overcome when moving.

No interior images are available, but it is worth noting that it will have quite a high level of equipment and could be considered “luxury“. The living module has a maximum height of 1.98 metres and is equipped to accommodate two people. That said, a second bed can be fitted, so it can become a space for four.

According to the company, it will come with a microwave, a kitchen with a sink, fridge and freezer, an induction hob and a full bathroom. It also has fans inside, Starlink connectivity and an auxiliary battery to power all the electrical equipment needed on board.

Optionally, it can be fitted with an external winch, exterior lights, air conditioning in the living area, a 32-inch television and the possibility of direct access to the living area from the cab.
