As every year, when the half-year closes, all the data on car market sales comes to light. Stellantis, the multinational responsible for production in the automotive industry, dominates the market for battery electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in Spain during the first half of 2023, comfortably outselling its competitors. The brands Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Citroën, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Jeep, Opel and Peugeot, all part of the Stellantis Group, rank as leaders in the electrified vehicle industry, accounting for almost a quarter of all sales in the country.

During the first six months of the year, Stellantis registered 14,043 units of battery electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, representing a market share of 23.1%, even doubling the next group in the ranking. This success reflects the company’s commitment to offering clean, safe and accessible mobility for everyone.

Stellantis has expanded its electrified vehicle offering in Spain, making more than 40 models from its brands available, covering a wide range of segments, from compact city cars to SUVs, saloons, 4x4s and supercars. These vehicles stand out for their performance and range, reaching up to 400 km under the WLTP protocol. One of the standout models is the Jeep Avenger, chosen as the “2023 European Car of the Year”, with a range of up to 550 km in urban driving.

In the 100% electric segment, Stellantis leads the sector with 6,985 registrations, achieving a market share of 24.2%. The Fiat 500e is among the five best-selling electric vehicles in Spain so far this year.

Furthermore, Stellantis is the undisputed leader in the market for 100% electric commercial vehicles, with 2,743 registrations and a 55.2% share in the first six months of the year. The Citroën and Peugeot brands head this segment, thanks to the reliability and adaptability of their models to the needs of businesses, professionals and private customers. Stellantis’s electric commercial vehicles offer a range of range options and features similar to internal combustion vehicles, ideal for carrying out transport tasks.

As for plug-in hybrids, Stellantis recorded 7,058 registrations, reaching a market share of 22.2% over the same period. Two standout models in this segment are the Peugeot 3008 Plug-in Hybrid and the Citroën C5 Aircross Plug-in Hybrid, which both feature in the Top 5 best sellers.
