The BMW Z4 M40i gains an extra 47 CV

BMW Australia has announced a power upgrade for the upcoming Z4 M40i. This could also benefit other M Performance vehicles in the region.

BMW Australia is in for a treat. For all the lucky residents of this region who are interested in buying a BMW Z4 M40i, they can now do so with up to 47 CV extra from the manufacturer.

This sports car now features a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine, which produces 385 CV. This upgrade brings a considerable boost in acceleration. Previously, the Z4 M40i could go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. Now, with this increase in power, it can do so in just 4.1 seconds, which is nothing to scoff at…

This move by the manufacturer is a great success. Improving the vehicles that are currently on the market, rather than focusing exclusively on novel projects, shows the brand’s interest in satisfying many of its current customers.

The price of the vehicle will remain the same, that is, $85,955 (about €81,000). In this way, we are getting a slightly superior vehicle for the same price, which may upset current owners of this version without the upgrade. It remains to be seen whether BMW will do anything about this for these customers.

The 2020 Z4 promises genuine dynamic improvements in driving, thanks, among other things, to a perfect weight distribution, a smaller chassis, all complemented by an all-wheel-drive system, depending on the model you choose, of course…

It also features a lighter upper body, which helps improve its centre of gravity. It’s clear that BMW is seeking to position itself within this segment of sports cars, with one of the most fun, dynamic and beautiful models on the market.
