The BMW Z4 meets drivers' wishes, now available with a manual gearbox

The new BMW Z4 will be available with a manual gearbox. Mind you, it will only be available paired with the SDrive20i engine producing 197 CV.

For any driver worth their salt, a manual gearbox is always more appealing, especially when talking about drivers of the Bavarian brand. Knowing this, the Munich-based manufacturer has just launched the BMW Z4 with manual gearbox onto the market. This type of transmission can only be associated with the entry-level version, which is fitted with the SDrive20i engine producing 197 CV.

The starting price of the new German roadster will remain at €48,900, and it is worth highlighting that the convertible has been on sale since last March. Some sources suggested that BMW might drop this model at the end of its life cycle, but for the time being it has equipped it with a manual gearbox.

The BMW Z4 Roadster replaces the second-generation model and has arrived to go head to head with the Audi TT, the Mercedes-Benz SLC and the Porsche 718 Boxster, not to mention its ‘brother’ the Toyota Supra

BMW Z4 2019, now with manual gearbox
The
new roadster from the Bavarian house measures 4.32 metres in length and proudly sports a muscular body dominated by oversized kidney grilles with a honeycomb finish. This grille is flanked by sharp, vertically arranged headlights. It features a much lighter folding fabric roof than its predecessor. Opening takes ten seconds and can be done on the move, provided you are travelling at a maximum of 50 km/h. At the rear, it is more angular, and its two exhaust outlets stand out.

One of the key features of the BMW Z4 is that it has been designed with the same lightweight chassis and body construction as the BMW i3 and BMW i8, which nonetheless does not push the price above the market value the current BMW Z4 had when it launched. It is also worth mentioning that BMW has achieved a perfect 50:50 weight distributionNuevo BMW Z4.

As for the interior, it has a more minimalist design, featuring a digital instrument cluster and a new infotainment screen integrated into the dashboard. Below it are the air vents and climate controls. In addition to its standard upholstery, for the first time the BMW Z4 receives a trim signed by BMW M Performance, which means red stitching on the seats and steering wheel. Meanwhile, the boot has a capacity of 281 litres

, which is in no case affected by the position of the fabric roof.
