BYD Dolphin Electric Cars Compact
The BYD Dolphin is fully revealed in Shanghai: this is the compact that will arrive in Spain
After offering us some details about the model, BYD presented it at the Shanghai Motor Show and we can now find precise information about the compact.

We had already read a few things about the BYD Dolphin, a compact electric car that has been presented at the Shanghai Motor Show. But now that it has been made public at this event, we have more to tell you about this model, initially aimed at the Chinese market, but which will soon arrive in the European market.
The BYD Dolphin is based, like other models from the brand, on the e-Platform 3.0, the brand’s most advanced platform. Its aim is to stand out in the compact electric segment, so it features characteristics designed to attract the attention of potential buyers.

The battery fitted to this model, which is something we were waiting to learn, has a capacity of 60 kWh LFP and was manufactured by the same brand. As for the engine with which it will arrive in Europe, it is expected to be a front-mounted motor offering a power of 150 kW, that is, 204 CV. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration is put at seven seconds and the top speed is 160 km/h.
The range it will achieve, according to the WLTP cycle, will be 427 kilometres. As for charging, it will be able to handle up to 88 kW. These are not very spectacular figures, but they are very valid for a car of these characteristics.

Technological interior
Thanks to the platform used by the model, it has been possible to equip it with the latest technology offered by the brand. In front of the driver there is a screen for the instrumentation and another, centrally positioned, measuring 12.3 inches. This screen can rotate so that it sits in portrait or landscape orientation, according to the driver’s preferences.
It will be launched with different trim levels and, depending on these, it may feature a panoramic roof, 360º cameras, adaptive LED headlights, front seats with automatic adjustment and bidirectional charging system, which can supply power to other external devices.
As for the cabin, it has seating for five passengers. The boot is 345 litres, although 1,310 litres can be reached if the rear seats are folded down. As for orders in Europe, these can be placed from June 2023 and the first deliveries are scheduled for the end of this year. The price of this model is expected to be around 30,000 euros, so it would be in line with the MG 4.
