The Cadillac Converj gets the green light
Cadillac has finally decided to build the Converj, its concept similar to the Chevy Volt.

Given the lukewarm reception the Chevy Volt has received on its way to market, it was difficult to expect Cadillac to dare to produce its own hybrid adaptation. However, the price and cost reductions everyone was hoping for have not materialised, and that has worked in Cadillac’s favour: the Chevy Volt remains one of the most expensive saloon hybrids on the North American market and in the world, and Cadillac’s customers do not think twice about paying, so there should be no problems or controversy over the final price.
That being the case, the Converj or future Cadillac model similar to the Chevy Volt has already received the green light from the brand’s executives to go into production. The Cadillac version will show no visible differences from the GM original, only in terms of the level of finish.
The only thing that will change is the much-publicised range of the model, since the Cadillac version will be better equipped, in keeping with the illustrious brand. With a greater weight, it would not be able to sustain a range of roughly 50 kilometres in electric mode.
There is no timeline for the Converj to appear as a production model; it has only been mentioned that it could be ready as a 2013 or 2014 model. It is safe to assume that many months remain before the Converj (or whatever it ends up being called) returns to the spotlight and is shown to the general public.
