The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is already priced on the other side of the pond, at $79,000

The Chevrolet Corvette is now in its seventh generation, and, as might be expected, performance versions are beginning to emerge.

This is the case with the Corvette Z06, which now has an official price for sale in the USA, where it will go on sale in a few months.

With a starting price of $79,000, the Corvette Z06 is one of those cars that is worth every cent it costs. In addition to the coupé, the convertible alternative will also go on sale, with a list price starting at $83,995. Both models can be chosen in three different trim levels, and even the base one is extensive enough to keep its fortunate owner entertained and happy for a long period of time.

However, equipment is not the most important thing in a car of this kind, since the true raison d’être of the Z06 lies beneath its bodywork, where we find a chassis that is truly well tuned, with a dynamic level that in this latest generation (C7) has reached very high standards, shamelessly rivalling great European sports cars.

All of this is rounded off by a large 6.2 V8 engine, capable of delivering 650 hp and 881 Nm, staggering figures achieved in part thanks to supercharging. The engine is connected to a 7-speed manual gearbox, or optionally to an 8-speed automatic.

In addition, Chevrolet offers several packs that further enhance the appeal of the new Corvette Z06. The first is called Carbon Fiber Ground Effects, costs approximately $3,000, and adds carbon-fibre trim such as the spoiler and the side skirts.
Another pack, more focused on performance, is the Z07 Performance Package, which costs $8,000. It adds carbon-ceramic brakes signed by Brembo, Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup tyres and a rear spoiler adjustable into different positions.
