Chevrolet Spark Industry Urban
The Chevrolet Spark makes a strong impression in the US
The Chevrolet Spark has made a promising start in the North American market, selling more than 6,000 units in two months, in just half of the US and Canada (18 cities).

Since it went on sale on the other side of the pond, the Spark has proven to be a real success in the North American market. General Motors has sold more than 6,300 units in two months, far more than executives expected, and that’s even though it isn’t available in all the cities of the American union.
The days when General Motors, and other US brands, underestimated small cars are over, and they have now set to work fulfilling the agreed deliveries to the letter. To do so, the Korean plant where the Spark is built has been ordered to increase its production to meet demand.
Despite some deliveries running a little behind because of union problems at the Korean plant, which also supplies Korea itself, India, Mexico and other markets, it seems the year will end with good sales figures and better forecasts for 2013, when they plan to sell around 27,000 Sparks.
The Spark, a serious rival in the US to the Smart and the Fiat 500

According to the figures, the small Chevrolet has outsold the Smart ForTwo and the Scion iQ (an adaptation of the Toyota iQ for the Scion sub-brand).
As for the Fiat 500, we cannot yet compare its sales with those of the Chevrolet Spark, but considering the Italian car has sold around 25,000 units up to June (largely thanks to the arrival of the Abarth versions), the Spark will be a serious competitor for the 500 in North America in 2013; furthermore, next year it will add a fully electric version.
